I walked around the hotel before met up with colleagues in the morning. The area was newly developed commercial area with wide straight roads and skyscrapers, but I also found a cathedral with twin spires in the neighborhood.

Dusk at the Gangnam district of Seoul.

We met our Korean colleagues based in United States during breakfast provided by the conference and we spent our day in meeting rooms scattered in the hotel. The Indian colleagues are vegetarians and there weren’t too many choices for them in the breakfast and lunch buffets. We had asked colleagues in the Seoul office for recommendations of restaurants providing authentic Korean food before we came to Seoul, and we decided to give their suggestions a try with our dinner. The foods offered in the restaurant were really good and we had a great time chatting about the cultures and customs of our origins. Kudos to the Korean colleagues for communicating with staffs in the restaurant for us, especially they weren’t offered souvenirs for foreign guests when we left.

The meat and vegetarian Korean cuisines we enjoyed in the restaurant.
