When we arrived Singapore, this city was already in full swing for the Holiday Season. Walking on Orchard Road, the major shopping district of Singapore, the decoration on the street and inside the display windows almost made us forget the fact that Christmas was still a month away.

The view along the Singapore River is spectacular. Pubs and restaurants at Clarke Quay and Boat Quay all opened till mid-night. Many people sat at tables next to the river to enjoy the view and the pleasant squeeze over the river.

Merlion, the legendary landmark of Singapore, guards the entrance of Singapore River.

Esplanade, the post-modern architecture housing the centre of performance art, stands on the other side of the river.
